After working for a major Japanese securities company and a foreign financial institution, he was appointed Managing Director of Lehman Brothers' Tokyo branch, where he oversaw the Structured Finance division in Asia. He was involved in the securitisation of monetary claims, real estate and non-performing loans. He later contributed to the development of structured finance in Japan as a management member of a ‘boutique investment bank’. He is still involved as an advisor to many companies.
